From Continental Circus: Chase HQ to Fire Tyre, here are some suggestions to keep Amstrad CPC racing fans occupied until Verspertino’s release! In 2019, Batman Group teased us with a sneak peek of their upcoming racing game — Vespertino. It shook the Amstrad community to its very core. Better still it will be released in two versions, a 128K disk version or a cartridge version that will cram everything it can into an 8bit. Vespertino is currently in transit, with the hope that we will see a 2021 release and will offer full compatibility across all CPC range of computers.  This year as part of the CPC 64k Retro Dev 2020 competition, CNGSoft released a game called Fire Tyre for the Amstrad CPC. We all have fabulous memories of the first time we ever experienced an arcade. This is mine. My family would take one or two-week holidays to Wales, Cornwall or other British seaside towns. It's within these seaside places during several blistering summers that I lost my arcade virginity.  I can still remember the first time I ever walked into one. The noise of several arcade machines drowning out all others. Unbeknown to me then, I could hear Magical Sound Shower competing for volume with Atari's Star Wars and those of Pacman. My parents never liked to stay too long, where I was just getting into it. Part of the allure was just to peer over someone's shoulder to see how they played the game rather than just play it and then get completely wiped out, whilst at the same time judging and reviewing which games I wanted to pump my hard-earned coins into. One for the road... Computer games come and go, but not many leave an itch in this brave new world of PS4/PS5 and Nintendo Switch gaming. It just so happens that I quite like Buggy Boy on the Commodore 64 as well. It might be 33 years old, but if you're up for a challenge, this 1987 racer will deliver in everything but the pain. My Favourite ZX Spectrum Driving Games is just that. These are in my personal humble opinion the driving games I play the most on the ZX Spectrum.
